A livestreamer who filmed the aftermath of a deadly plane crash and shared the footage on his social media channel has refused to remove the content, despite facing intense criticism online. The incident occurred when an Amazon Prime Air delivery plane crash-landed at Miami International Airport in Florida on Sunday afternoon, killing five people in a van on the ground and injuring three others. The crash happened when the jet tore through a perimeter fence. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash. Around four hours after the incident, four streamers, including "ChickenAndy," 27, from Calabasas, California, and "BinxBasilisk," 33, based in Miami, arrived at the crash site. The pair, along with two other streamers, were seen posing in front of the plane’s wreckage while livestreaming to their followers on Kick, a platform that generates income for ChickenAndy. In one of the videos, the streamers approached the plane, which had its nose smashed into the ground and against a chain-link fence. They interacted with members of the media, civilians, and police officers during the livestream. The streamers later posted a photo of the crash site on Instagram, captioning it with details about the incident. This led to swift backlash online, with critics accusing the streamers of treating the site like a tourist attraction. Aviation expert Jack Sweeney shared the image on X (formerly Twitter) and criticized the streamers for their behavior. Other users expressed outrage, noting that the crash had resulted in multiple deaths and questioning the streamers’ motives. Some even called for investigations by local and federal authorities. In an interview with The Independent, ChickenAndy, who requested to be identified only by his username, said he did not know anyone had died when he and his group arrived at the crash site. He refused to take down the footage or photos, claiming that doing so would make him appear guilty. "I feel like if I take it down, it makes me more of a criminal," he said. He also claimed he had no intention of filming any bodies and expressed sympathy for the victims, noting that he had recently lost his grandfather. ChickenAndy added that he was considering suing the airline for defamation, citing the negative impact the incident had on his income and online presence. BinxBasilisk did not respond to a request for comment. Portions of the livestream have been shared online, with one clip showing a fire department official warning the group not to get too close to the crash site.
