Uno-X Mobility talks with Vingegaard

Uno-X Mobility has confirmed it is in discussions with Jonas Vingegaard, despite the Danish cyclist being under contract with Visma | Lease a Bike until the end of the 2028 season.

Vingegaard’s contract status

Jonas Vingegaard, a double Tour de France winner, is currently signed with Visma | Lease a Bike and is not expected to be free until after the 2028 season.

Initial contact from Uno-X

Thor Hushovd, general manager of Uno-X Mobility, revealed during an interview with the Danish channel TV2 that the team has started initial talks with Vingegaard.

Financial challenges

Hushovd noted that the discussions are complicated by Vingegaard’s high salary demands, which would require significant external financial support to meet.

Team’s priorities

The general manager emphasized that Uno-X’s current focus is on developing its existing riders, and any move for Vingegaard would depend on "good timing" and external investment.

Need for Danish support

Hushovd added that while Vingegaard’s salary would not exceed the budget of a team with more than fifty riders, the recruitment would require a major Danish company to provide additional financial backing.
