Australia claimed a 30-10 victory over Scotland in the WXV Global Series in Edinburgh, ending Scotland's chances of securing a win against the Wallaroos. Despite leading 10-5 at halftime, Scotland was unable to match Australia's strong second-half performance, which included three tries scored in a quick eight-minute period. This marked the third consecutive defeat for Scotland in the series. Scotland's first try of the match came from Evie Gallagher, who scored on 15 minutes after a period of sustained pressure against the Australian defense. In the first half, Scotland maintained control with Meryl Smith in the midfield and lock Holland Bogan applying pressure on the Australian defense. However, poor line-out execution limited Scotland's attacking opportunities during this period. Australia shifted the momentum in the second half, scoring three tries in quick succession. The first came from a rolling line-out maul that was stopped just short, allowing scrum-half Samantha Wood to dive over for the try. Wood converted her own score, giving Australia the lead for the first time. This was followed by a sin-binning for Gallagher, who was penalized for illegally bringing down the initial maul. With a numerical advantage, Australia continued to dominate, with Brianna Hoy and Faitala Moleko scoring additional tries. Wood added a penalty to extend Australia's lead. Scotland managed to score a penalty through Helen Nelson, but it was not enough to overcome the Wallaroos' strong second-half performance. The two teams will meet again in Sydney next weekend.
