La Cigalière hosts family events

La Cigalière, a cultural venue, has announced a range of events for children and their parents from November to April. These events include performances in dance, theater, music, and visual poetry, all tailored for young audiences, with some shows suitable for children as young as two years old. Free workshops are also available before select shows, offering families opportunities to engage with art in various ways.

First event features a penguin dance

The first event is scheduled for Wednesday, November 4, at 4:30 p.m., with Pingouin, a dance performance by the company Virgule. The show follows a penguin on a journey of discovery, blending hip-hop, contemporary dance, and tap. The performance is accessible to children aged 3 and older, with a free family workshop available on the same day at 10 a.m. for those attending the afternoon show.

Theater adaptation of a classic novel

On Wednesday, November 25, at 4:30 p.m., La Ferme des Animaux will be performed, a theater production by La Fleur du Boucan inspired by George Orwell’s Animal Farm. The show transforms an ordinary kitchen into a setting where objects come to life, representing political themes such as collective organization and power dynamics. This performance is intended for children aged 8 and older.

Workshop complements the theater show

A theater initiation workshop will be offered on the same day as La Ferme des Animaux at 10 a.m. This session is designed to complement the performance, providing attendees with an introduction to the art of theater and its creative processes.
