Noël au Pays des Châteaux, a seasonal event celebrating the castles of the Loire Valley, will return for its 10th anniversary with a special edition featuring seven historic sites: Amboise, Azay-le-Rideau, Chenonceau, Chinon, Langeais, Loches, and Villandry. Each castle will host its own unique Christmas-themed experience, incorporating elements such as floral decorations, lighting displays, musical installations, and references to fairy tales and holiday traditions. The event aims to highlight the distinct character of each site while bringing together the region’s rich cultural and architectural heritage. At Villandry, the theme Christmas, nature invites to the castle will emphasize natural decorations and traditional holiday customs. Azay-le-Rideau will focus on Christmas at the table of the castles, showcasing the art of dining and gastronomy. Chenonceau will explore Christmas without borders, drawing on global Christmas traditions, while Chinon will feature Christmas in the land of fairies, evoking a magical, whimsical atmosphere. Amboise will present Royal Christmas with animals, Langeais will offer Musical and magical Christmas, and Loches will bring the classic tale Beauty and the Beast to life. Several of the castles will open for night visits on specific dates: December 5, 11, 12, 19, 23, 26, and 29. These evening events will provide visitors with a chance to experience the illuminated castles and their holiday themes after dark. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the event, a Christmas in the Land of Castles Pass will be available, offering discounted entry prices starting from three visits. The pass will be valid throughout the duration of the event, providing flexibility for visitors to explore multiple castles at a reduced cost.
