Garmin Fenix 8 available at reduced price

The Garmin Fenix 8 smartwatch is currently offered for less than 600 € on Amazon, according to a recent report. It is highlighted as one of the best products in a comparison and is praised as an excellent multisport watch, especially for those engaged in extreme sports or connected athletic activities.

Enhanced features of the Fenix 8

The Fenix 8 has been upgraded with several features, including a speaker, a microphone, an Amoled screen, a depth meter, and a revised interface. These improvements are designed to attract users who require advanced functionality for sports and outdoor activities.

Design and performance characteristics

The watch features a brighter Amoled screen that provides more information than the older MIP transflective screens. It is built with durable materials and includes a torchlight. Its GPS and heart rate monitor are noted for their precision, and the touchscreen is responsive. However, the watch is described as heavy and has a thick bezel, and the interface, while revised, is still considered complex and may take time to get used to.

User experience and platform differences

The app on the Fenix 8 is said to be unchanged and could be more intuitive. iOS users are reported to face more challenges compared to Android users. Garmin has strengthened its market position with the Fenix 8, emphasizing its durability and precision for sports and outdoor use. It is noted for its ability to keep up with training intensity and includes lifestyle features that make it comfortable to wear even for non-athletes.

Comparison with Forerunner 970

Garmin's Forerunner 970 smartwatch is also mentioned as a strong option, described as more convincing than its predecessors and even outperforming the Fenix 8 in some aspects. However, some users noticed occasional drops in heart rate readings during rapid intensity changes, while no other criticisms were reported for the Forerunner 970.
