New wireless earbuds released

Google has introduced the Pixel Buds 2a, wireless earbuds that allow users to listen to music, podcasts, or videos without traditional headphones. These earbuds include features such as active noise cancellation, a Transparency mode, and touch controls for managing audio and calls.

Design and comfort features

The Pixel Buds 2a are currently available in Sage Green and weigh only 4.7 grams each. They include a rotating stabilizer for a secure fit and come with four different sizes of ear tips to ensure comfort for various ear shapes. The design focuses on ease of use and wearability during extended listening sessions.

Audio and noise reduction technology

The earbuds use Silent Seal 1.5 technology to reduce ambient noise and improve audio quality. They also include an 11 mm dynamic speaker and the Google Tensor A1 chip for enhanced performance. The Transparency mode lets users hear their surroundings without removing the earbuds, making them useful in situations where awareness of the environment is important.

Battery life and charging

According to Google, the Pixel Buds 2a offer up to 10 hours of playback with active noise cancellation disabled and 7 hours when it is enabled. The total battery life with the charging case reaches 27 and 20 hours, respectively. A quick five-minute charge can provide up to one hour of playback with noise cancellation active, offering convenience for users on the go.

Additional features and compatibility

The earbuds include two microphones per earbud, wind noise protection, and improved voice clarity during calls. They are compatible with both Android and iOS devices but lack a dedicated app for management. The earbuds support Bluetooth 5.4 and have an IP54 rating, protecting them from dust and water splashes, while the case has IPX4 protection for added durability during travel.
