Gala event highlights artistic roller skating

A gala event featuring artistic roller skating will take place this Saturday at the Nonnes multi-sports hall in Châtellerault (Vienne). The event begins at 8:00 PM and brings together elements of sport and performance art.

Artistic roller skating blends multiple disciplines

Artistic roller skating combines dance, gymnastics, and figure skating, creating a unique form of performance that showcases both athletic skill and choreographic creativity.

Italian duo to perform at the event

The Italian duo Roberta Sasso and Gherardo Altieri Degrassi, who recently won the gold medal in the "pair dance" category at the World Skate Games 2026, will participate in the gala. The World Skate Games are considered the equivalent of the World Games for wheeled sports.

French team members will accompany the Italian duo

According to colleagues from La Nouvelle République, several members of the French artistic skating team will accompany Roberta Sasso and Gherardo Altieri Degrassi during their first visit to France. This visit is part of a broader effort to promote the sport.

Event holds significance for the local club

Priscilla Brunet-Vignon, coach of the Skating club of La Roche-Posay, emphasized the importance of the event, noting that it follows the recent participation of four of the club's athletes in the World Games. The club aims to bring a wide audience together for this exceptional event.

Gala aims to showcase the sport's appeal

The gala offers the public an opportunity to appreciate artistic roller skating, a sport that merges athletic performance with artistic expression. The event is organized with the support of local partners and highlights the growing visibility of the discipline in France.
