Vacuuming robots, programmable home appliances, and control applications are technologies designed to make household chores easier. Despite these advancements, 51 percent of French people still find organizing household tasks to be a significant mental burden. This issue affects both genders, though women are disproportionately impacted. The data highlights a growing concern about the psychological weight of managing domestic responsibilities. While technology aims to reduce the workload, it seems to have had limited success in alleviating the stress associated with household tasks. This is particularly evident in how individuals perceive the division of labor within the home. Women, in particular, report feeling the pressure more intensely, often taking on a larger share of domestic duties. However, men are not entirely free from this burden, indicating that the challenge is widespread. The findings suggest that while technological solutions are available, they may not be effectively addressing the underlying issues related to household responsibilities. Experts suggest that the problem may be linked to societal expectations and traditional gender roles. Even with modern tools, the perception of who should be responsible for household tasks persists. This ongoing issue underscores the need for broader cultural and social changes to support more equitable sharing of domestic duties.
