The label Aparté is launching a new concert series called Aparté Live this season, featuring ten performances at the Salle Cortot from September 2026 to May 2027. The series focuses on piano and chamber music, but it also includes a strong emphasis on vocal and lyrical works, offering audiences a variety of intriguing performances. The season opens with a program centered on Maurice Ravel and another dedicated to baroque Venice, featuring artists such as Zoltan Darago, Ophélie Gaillard, and the opera Pulcinella. Later, on November 27, bass-baritone Alexandre Baldo will reunite with the Ensemble Mozaïque to present his new CD, Unusual Suspects, which was released on November 20. The program includes works by composers like Porpora, Caldara, Vivaldi, Haendel, Smith, Mattheson, and Veracini, blending familiar pieces with lesser-known compositions. Through this CD, Baldo explores a range of unique characters, from demons and monsters to kings, gods, and heroes. The season will later return to the vocal repertoire with a rare performance of David umiliato by Antonio Caldara. This is an obscure Viennese oratorio, performed by Alexandre Baldo, countertenor Zoltan Darago, other soloists yet to be confirmed, and the Ensemble Mozaïque, scheduled for May 20, 2027. Between these two events, the series will continue with a variety of recitals and chamber music performances. Notable participants include Ophélie Gaillard, Reed Tetzloff, and pianists Simon Bürki and Albert Cano Smit, offering a diverse lineup of musical experiences throughout the season.
