L’Université de Mayotte expands mobility options

L’Université de Mayotte now has 17 agreements that allow students to study abroad as part of their education. These partnerships were highlighted during Erasmus Days, an event held on October 21 at the Dembéni campus, which focused on the benefits of international study opportunities.

Erasmus Days showcases international opportunities

The event, themed "Erasmus at the Service of the Knowledge and Talents of Tomorrow in Mayotte," emphasized the role of the Erasmus+ program in supporting students and staff. Topics included education, teaching, and international cooperation, with activities like an information stand, panel discussion, and a screening of the documentary Les enfants d’Erasmus.

Supporting students in international exchanges

L’Université de Mayotte has developed a program to help students who go abroad and those who come to study in Mayotte. As a holder of the Erasmus charter for higher education from 2021 to 2027, the university sees these exchanges as a way to improve academic outcomes and promote international engagement.

Mobility offers more than academic growth

Beyond classroom learning, studying abroad gives students a chance to experience new cultures, become more independent, and connect with people from different backgrounds. The Erasmus Days event allowed the university to share these benefits and feature stories from students who have participated in exchange programs.

Student shares positive Erasmus experience

Yasra, a third-year law student at the University of Perugia in Italy, is currently on an Erasmus mobility program. She praised the ease of accessing the program and the support she received when arriving in Italy. She is enjoying her time there and plans to return to Mayotte in mid-January, though she is already thinking about studying abroad again in the future.
