Chalair, a company led by Alain Battisti, has won a contract to provide air travel services for the Principality of Andorra, replacing a Spanish airline that previously managed flights to multiple destinations. Starting January 1, 2027, Chalair will operate flights from Andorra-La Seu d'Urgell to major European airports, including Madrid, Palma de Majorca, Paris, Nice, Lyon, and Nantes. The company plans to base an ATR 42 aircraft in Andorra, which will mark a significant increase in its operational scale.
Alain Battisti noted that Chalair has experience with international routes, having previously operated in Africa and maintained regular service to Antwerp. However, this will be the first time the company will operate internationally using an ATR aircraft. Chalair currently operates five ATR aircraft and five Beechcraft 1900D planes and intends to add a sixth ATR to its fleet.
The new routes will include three regular flights per year to Palma de Majorca, Madrid, and Paris. Palma de Majorca and Madrid will each have two to three flights per week, while Paris will have two flights per week. Seasonal routes will include Nantes, with two flights per week in winter, and Lyon and Nice, with one and two flights per week respectively during the summer. Flight prices will start at 55 euros, including a 10 kg carry-on bag and the option to choose a seat.
These flights will operate from Andorra-La Seu d'Urgell airport beginning in January 2027 and will continue until 2030. The expansion is expected to enhance connectivity for Andorra's residents and visitors, offering more direct access to key European destinations.
