The role he was offered

The film, directed by Jean-Marie Poiré, attracted over 13 million viewers in French cinemas. Bourdon was approached for the role of the dentist, Jean-Pierre Goulard, the husband of Béatrice de Montmirail.

Timing of the offer

He explained that the role was offered while he was in the middle of preparing for Les Trois Frères, which was released two years later. He noted that he had read the script and found it "formidable" but was unable to take the part due to scheduling conflicts.

Outcome of the role in Les Visiteurs

He concluded by saying, "You have to make choices!" The role of the dentist in Les Visiteurs was ultimately played by Christian Bujeau.
