Opening film highlights anticipation

The opening film, La Bola Negra, is expected to draw significant attention due to its recent acclaim at Cannes. The festival has also planned a special "solar" program to celebrate its connection to Spain, highlighting its cultural ties.

Three competitions featured

This year's festival includes three main competitions: an international feature film competition, a French short film competition, and a Contrebande competition featuring self-produced films made outside traditional production models. These competitions aim to showcase diverse and innovative cinematic works.

Notable premieres and films

Another unique premiere is Journal d'un premier film by Alice de Lima, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the making of La Gradiva by Marina Atlan.

International feature film selections

The International Feature Film Competition includes a variety of films such as Nina Roza by Geneviève Dulude-De Celles and Las islas afortunadas by Helena Girón and Samuel Delgado, reflecting a broad range of international cinema.

Fiction and documentary premieres

Fiction premieres include Journal d'une femme de chambre by Radu Jude and Un bon petit soldat by Stéphane Brizé, while documentary premieres feature Journal d'un premier film and Une vie manifeste by Jean-Gabriel Périot, showcasing a mix of narrative and non-fiction films.
