Amazon is making it easier for Prime Video viewers to discover and purchase products related to their favorite shows and movies. The company has introduced new features that integrate shopping directly into the streaming experience. One of these updates improves the existing X-Ray feature, which provides real-time information such as actor bios, character names, and soundtrack details. Now, users can also access a "Shop" tab within X-Ray that highlights products connected to the content they're watching. A new feature called "Shop the Scene" uses Amazon Lens technology to identify products inspired by what appears on screen, such as characters' clothing or home decor. This feature is now available on iOS and Android devices in the U.S. and works with over 600 titles. It allows users to point their phone at a scene and find similar items for purchase, making it easier to recreate looks or decorate their homes based on what they see in their favorite shows. Previously, users had to type "shop the show" into the Amazon Search app to access product recommendations tied to a specific movie or show. The new updates simplify this process by allowing users to open the Amazon Shopping app directly while watching content. The app then automatically syncs to the current show or movie and displays a feed of related products. Users can also use Amazon Lens to find items similar to those seen in specific scenes, even if the exact product isn't available for sale. The "Shop the Show" feature is expanding to cover more than 8,000 titles in the U.S., including Prime Originals, popular licensed content, and live sports. While not every item seen in a show will be available for purchase, the feature aims to give users a starting point for finding products that help them achieve a similar look or style. This enhancement reflects Amazon's ongoing effort to connect entertainment with shopping in a more seamless and intuitive way.
