Proton, a privacy-focused company based in Switzerland, is offering a special deal on its Proton Drive Plus service. Customers who sign up for a one-year subscription will receive a 40 percent discount on the first year, reducing the monthly cost from the standard rate to 2.99 euros per month. This represents a 24 euro saving compared to the usual price. As part of the offer, users will also receive a 20 euro gift card that can be used at major retailers and services like Amazon, Carrefour, IKEA, Uber, and Zalando. To take advantage of this offer, users must provide their email address, subscribe to the Proton Drive Plus package for one year, and select the gift card as part of their purchase. The gift card is issued after the 30-day satisfaction or refund guarantee period of the subscription has expired. This ensures that users are fully satisfied with the service before receiving the gift card. The Proton Drive Plus package includes 200 gigabytes of online storage, which is significantly more than the 5 gigabytes offered in the free version of Proton Drive. Users can store various types of files, organize them using folders and labels, and use a built-in photo viewer. They can also share secure links to folders, setting passwords and expiration dates for access. These features are designed to provide both convenience and security. Proton Drive Plus emphasizes security with features like end-to-end encryption, which ensures that data is protected both during transmission and while stored. It also offers multi-factor authentication for account security. Proton follows a strict no-logging policy, in compliance with Swiss privacy laws, meaning it does not keep records of user activity. Users can manage their subscription through their Proton account, and customer support is available 24/7 in English and French via chat or email. The service continues to evolve, with updates for Windows, Mac, and web platforms, although some features for improved photo management are still under development.
