Release date and price

Ubisoft's open-world arcade racing game The Crew Motorfest has been released on the Nintendo Switch 2 on October 8, 2026, priced at 49.99€.

Player base and updates

The game, which had already reached over 40 million players by the end of September 2023, has seen continued development with numerous updates and expansions, including the addition of new game areas and content.

Nintendo Switch 2 version features

The Nintendo Switch 2 version includes a larger game area, with Hawaii serving as the primary setting, and an expanded roster of vehicles, now including nearly 870 different cars compared to around 600 in 2023.

Online requirements and new features

The game requires a Ubisoft account and a permanent internet connection to play, even in solo mode, until the arrival of an offline mode. The developers have introduced a real event editor through the "TrackForge" mode during Season 9, allowing players to create and share their own events with the community.

Performance on Nintendo Switch 2

In terms of performance, the Nintendo Switch 2 version runs at 1080p/30 fps in both TV and portable modes. However, the technical concessions made for the portable mode result in more pronounced aliasing and clipping, longer texture loading times, and occasional frame rate drops in more demanding environments.

Controls and multiplayer considerations

The gameplay experience using the Joy-Con controllers is described as comparable to the DualSense on PlayStation 5, though some controls may be less precise and the AI of enemy bots has aged poorly.

Content and cross-platform issues

The Nintendo Switch 2 version does not include paid DLC or a Season Pass directly within the game, but free content added over the past three years largely compensates for this. In-game purchases made on other platforms are not transferable to this version, meaning players who purchased the Year 1 Pass on other platforms must repurchase it.

Technical and distribution details

Cross-play is supported only for specific activities, and an active subscription to Nintendo Switch Online is required for multiplayer features. No free trial or Friend Pass system is available for this port. The physical edition includes a game key card rather than a cartridge, and the game requires a minimum download of 58.5 Go.
