Playsport Games, the British studio behind the popular motorsport management game Motorsport Manager, has announced the development of Motorsport Manager 2, set to release in 2027 for PC via Steam. The game will debut with its first gameplay trailer, showcasing its expanded features and gameplay improvements. This sequel aims to build on the success of its predecessor, offering deeper mechanics and a more realistic motorsport simulation experience. Motorsport Manager 2 will allow players to manage a pre-configured racing team or create one from scratch, aiming to lead it to the pinnacle of motorsport. Players will need to manage their team intelligently, identify future talents in driving and engineering, develop vehicles over multiple seasons (including chassis, front wing, brakes, engine, etc.), and devise optimal race strategies based on car positions, fuel reserves, tire availability, and weather conditions. The game will support four motorsport disciplines from launch: single-seater racing, GT, endurance racing, and motorcycle racing. The title promises numerous gameplay improvements, including enhanced AI behavior and technical aspects, aiming to deliver a rich, immersive, and realistic experience. The interface is said to draw inspiration from the F1 Manager series by Frontier Developments. Unlike its predecessor, Motorsport Manager 2 will not include any official licenses, allowing for full mod support from day one. This means players can customize and expand the game with user-created content right from launch. The developers have confirmed that generative AI will be used exclusively for creating character portraits during development, generating thousands of variations across three age groups to enhance realism and immersion. These portraits are pre-created and verified by the art team before being integrated into the game. Generative AI is not used for any other graphical elements, such as vehicles, decals, logos, or clothing, and the AI-generated portraits can be disabled in the game's preferences. This approach allows the game to benefit from AI tools while maintaining control over its visual quality and authenticity.
