The Cévennes region's event offers immersive experiences with local producers, gourmet bike rides, and open-air markets showcasing regional products and traditions.
Event expands into immersive experiences
This year's event in the Cévennes region goes beyond typical market activities by offering two days of immersive experiences that focus on local agriculture and producers. Visitors can engage directly with farmers and artisans through guided tours and interactive workshops.Saturday's highlights include farm visits and workshops
On Saturday, October 17, the event features "L'Avant-Goût," a day of immersion with local producers. Activities include meeting a beekeeper, visiting a sheep farm during lambing season, exploring a fish farm, walking through a chestnut grove with a traditional brasucade, and visiting a goat farm that produces Pélardon AOP cheese. A lacto-fermentation workshop is also included.New 2026 addition: gourmet bike ride and cooking session
Among the new additions for 2026 is a 25 km gourmet bike ride around the agropastoralism areas and the Grand Site of Navacelles. This ride includes encounters with farmers and tastings, as well as a cooking workshop focused on the Cévennes Sweet Onion, led by chefs from Les Oiseaux à Perche. This workshop is linked to the meeting of the three artists laureates of the Merea Prize.Sunday's open-air market transforms Le Vigan
On Sunday, October 18, Le Vigan becomes an open-air market, with 120 exhibitors—producers, farmers, and artisans—setting up in the town center from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm. The Cévennes Sweet Onion AOP and Reinette du Vigan will be highlighted, alongside the "Made in Cévennes" salon and demonstrations by Militant du Goût artisans.Diverse activities and family-friendly programs
The day includes a new gastronomic animation centered on a cargo of Cévennes Sweet Onion, fanfares, a procession of brotherhoods, and workshops on grafting and cuttings. There is also a strong focus on children with activities like taste awakening sessions, discovery of local products, a mini-farm, giant games, acro pitchoun, and an ecological "carousel cow." Over 500 seats are available under the arcades, complemented by the offerings of local restaurateurs from the Pays Viganais.
