Roborock Q7 M5 Set details

The Roborock Q7 M5 Set is a mid-range robot vacuum cleaner with suction power of 10,000 Pa, more than double that of the Roborock Q7 Max. It is currently on sale on Amazon at a 44% discount, priced at 139.99 euros, down from its regular price of 249.99 euros.

Included components and features

The Q7 M5 Set includes the vacuum cleaner, its standard charging station, and necessary washing accessories, but does not feature an automatic emptying station. This version requires manual emptying, which contributes to its lower price point compared to the Q7 M5+ model.

Navigation and mopping capabilities

The Roborock Q7 M5 Set uses precise LiDAR navigation with multi-floor mapping and systematic room coverage, an improvement over entry-level models that typically use gyroscopic navigation. It also includes a mopping function with three water flow levels and a 270 ml water tank, suitable for adjusting humidity on various flooring types.

Limitations of the mopping function

The mopping function lacks rotating glides, strong mechanical pressure, and a cleaning station, which makes it less effective for removing dried, greasy, or ingrained stains. It is best suited for light maintenance rather than replacing traditional mopping.

Anti-entanglement system

The robot vacuum includes a double anti-entanglement system with a main JawScrapers-type brush and an arc-shaped side brush, which helps manage hair and fur, especially in homes with pets. However, it requires manual maintenance, particularly in homes with long hair, to prevent entanglement around moving parts.

App functionality and user responsibilities

The Roborock app allows users to program cleaning cycles, select specific rooms, adjust suction power, and control water flow. However, the charging station only recharges the device, and users must manually empty the dust bin, clean the mopping cloths, and ensure the floor is clear of obstructions for the robot to move freely.

Suitability and additional options

The Q7 M5 Set is well-suited for regular maintenance but does not replace a traditional vacuum cleaner for heavy cleaning sessions. For users seeking more automation in maintenance, additional models and guides are available. Some of the links in this article are affiliated with the publisher.
