The exhibition K-arrément Corée ! is currently on display at the Museum of Asian Arts, showcasing innovative works by a range of artists. Among the featured artists are the psychedelic group Chudahye Chagis, the duo Dal:um, two emerging folk musicians, and the enchanting Park Jiha. The exhibition officially opened on October 6, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. It was launched to coincide with the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between France and Korea, providing the Guimet Museum an opportunity to spotlight Korean culture. From an exhibition on K-beauty to one on shamanism, the spring of 2026 saw K-arrément Corée ! as a rich and varied event. The autumn season adds new elements, bringing bold contemporary art into the museum and offering a fresh perspective. Sophie Paulet, the programmer of the museum's auditorium, explains that it has been their goal for three years to become a platform for creative expression in Asian arts, especially in live performance, to attract new audiences. The museum is even exploring contemporary music, thanks to the captivating Park Jiha (performing on November 15) and the duo Dal:um (on November 6), whose performances are highly anticipated. These future folk musicians use traditional Korean instruments like the piri oboe, the yanggeum dulcimer, and the saenghwang mouth organ. They blend millennium-old sounds with minimalism, Western minimalism, electronic music, and improvisation, creating enchanting new musical landscapes. Other performances in the exhibition follow a similar experimental approach. One event combined classical Korean jeongga singing with Gregorian chant, which took place on October 1st. Another featured a reimagining of shamanism by the psychedelic group Chudahye Chagis, held on October 15th. Additionally, two French premieres will be presented, one commissioned by the museum, which will invite the National Theater of Korea to reinterpret a modern romantic play on November 14th. These performances aim to highlight aspects of Korean culture that are still relatively unknown in France, in a very funky and engaging way.
