A 100 percent electric mobile unit, known as Agglo Mobile, is offering public services to 40 of the 44 communes in the Gard rhodanien area, operating five days a week. The service helps residents with various administrative procedures, including matters related to the Family Allowance Fund, pension accounts, forms, vehicle registration, driver's licenses, passports, and taxes. It also provides access to services such as the House of Justice and Law, multi-purpose centers, A.L.S.H (a type of youth center), leisure centers, and intercommunal insurance. The unit is managed by three agents who "welcome, explain, and accompany" residents through the process. Claude Salau, mayor of Saint-Julien-de-Peyrolas, said that Agglo Mobile helps bring public service closer to people, particularly in rural communes where local services are declining and procedures are becoming more complex. Chérifa Boutaïb, departmental animator-coordinator of the France Services network, described the service as "human-faced" and noted that "every administrative procedure begins a story." Christophe Serre, president of the Agglo, added that the vehicle represents a model of public service that reaches residents rather than waiting for them to come to it. In 2024, the service achieved an 81 percent completion rate for procedures, assisting nearly 2,800 people. Of those assisted, 89 percent were over 55 years old. Chérifa Boutaïb mentioned the "possibility" of establishing a France Services House in Pont-Saint-Esprit, with a third of Agglo Mobile's activity already taking place there. The mobile unit cost 140,000 euros, with 61 percent of the funding coming from the State. France Services Houses already exist in Lirac and Bagnols/Cèze, while La Roque/Cèze and Aiguèze are expected to be served by Agglo Mobile in 2027. The route of Agglo Mobile is available online, and residents can make reservations by emailing franceservices-agglo@gardrhodanien.fr or calling 0466396555. This mobile service aims to make administrative procedures more accessible, especially for those who may have difficulty traveling to a central office or navigating complex processes.
