ASVEL loses in Lithuania

ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne lost a European basketball match in Lithuania, as reported by L'Équipe. The team had previously gone unbeaten and was co-leading in the Betclic Élite league after a tough overtime win against Limoges on Saturday.

ASVEL and Zalgiris had similar records

Before this match, both ASVEL and Zalgiris had identical records: two wins and four losses. This made the game an important test for both teams in the league standings.

Lithuanian crowd affected ASVEL's performance

In the intense atmosphere created by the Lithuanian crowd, ASVEL players lost momentum and were unable to turn the game around. Key contributors Hugo Besson and Jae Crowder scored 13 and 12 points respectively, but it wasn't enough to keep the team competitive.

Rebound difference highlights ASVEL's struggles

The rebound difference illustrated ASVEL's difficulties: Zalgiris secured 47 rebounds, while ASVEL managed only 22. This disparity contributed significantly to their defeat, with ASVEL trailing by as many as 26 points by the 26th minute and continuing to fall behind throughout the game.

ASVEL returns home for next match

ASVEL will return to their home court on Sunday to face Nancy in the championship, looking to bounce back from this European loss.
