On October 1, the new campus of Omnes Education opened in Marseille at Porte d'Aix, in the city’s 3rd arrondissement. Facing Place Marceau, the building is designed to accommodate 1,100 students. Constructed by the developer Redman and acquired by CEPAC Immobilier, a real estate company linked to the Caisse d'Épargne CEPAC, the campus was designed by the architectural firm AT Architectes. The facility is part of a larger plan to eventually host up to 2,600 students.
Omnes Education is a group specializing in private higher education, bringing together 15 schools across fields such as engineering, communication, management, and political science, with nearly 40,000 students in total. The Marseille campus currently employs 230 staff, 80 percent of whom are from the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. The campus houses three schools: ECE, which focuses on electronic engineering; INSEEC, a business school; and Sup de Pub, a school of communication. The group has invested two million euros in the new campus.
The campus incorporates Marseille’s cultural identity into its design, with each level and space associated with a local landmark, such as Le Panier, La Joliette, or the CEPAC Vélodrome. The executive president of Omnes Education, Marc-Henri Desportes, had previously called Marseille "a first pillar of growth" for the group. The campus also includes a new artificial intelligence laboratory, Intelligence Lab, where students can develop their own AI tools. The campus has partnered with Olympique de Marseille, a local football club, to further these efforts.
In addition to academic programs, the campus offers an incubator called La Fabrique for students interested in starting entrepreneurial projects. It also partners with 800 companies to provide work-study programs, including Onet, CMA CGM, the Snef, and the Caisse d'Épargne CEPAC. The campus also features a fitness space called Omnes Fit, and encourages students to engage with the local community through ten hours of volunteer work with one of 30 partner associations. The association Evocae, which helps young people with post-secondary orientation, is already active on campus.
The campus also includes a solidarity grocery store, where students can receive free weekly packages of food, supplied in part by the Food Bank. A health space provides free consultations with general practitioners and psychologists, with physiotherapists visiting every fifteen days. A fitness room, funded by Decathlon, is open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. to promote physical activity.
Of the 1,100 students welcomed this year, 500 were already enrolled in their first year. According to Omnes Education, 60 percent of students are from the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, with 30 percent from other parts of France and 10 percent from abroad. The addition of ECE, an engineering school specializing in digital technology and artificial intelligence, aims to strengthen Omnes Education’s role in engineering education. The region has set a goal of training an additional 1,000 engineers annually by 2030 to support local industrial development.
