Alexander Hajek joins new team

Austrian cyclist Alexander Hajek has signed with the Italian team Bardiani-CSF 7 Saber for the 2027 season, according to a report from the team. Hajek, 23, will leave his current team, Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe, after representing them for three seasons. He is expected to strengthen the Italian team's climbing capabilities, particularly on short and steep ascensions, in demanding courses and stage races.

Hajek's career achievements

Hajek has had notable successes in his career, including winning the Austrian national road championship in 2024. That same year, he finished seventh in the general classification of the Tour of Turkey, tenth in the Coppa Sabatini, and fourteenth in the Tour of Guangxi. In 2025, he confirmed his stage race prowess with a fourth-place finish in the Tour of Hungary, eighth in the Czech Tour, and tenth in the CRO Race. He also finished tenth in the Trofeo Matteotti.

Challenges in 2026

Hajek described 2026 as a difficult season and expressed gratitude to his previous team for believing in him and providing this opportunity. Despite not achieving major results this season, he aims to be more competitive in higher-level races and secure new victories. His arrival adds to Bardiani-CSF 7 Saber's roster ahead of the 2027 season, following the recruitment of Davide de Cassan, Juan David Sierra, and Simone Raccani.
