Tyler Dorsey, a Greek international basketball guard, is currently under contract with Olympiakos until the summer of 2027. Reports suggest he is seeking a new deal worth 3.5 million euros per season to extend his stay with the Piraeus-based club. However, Olympiakos has not yet reached that stage in negotiations. Dorsey has admitted that talks have not advanced, and he wants to remain with the club until the end of the season, but he emphasized that the decision does not rest with him alone. According to Greek media, the gap between the player and the club is narrowing. Earlier reports indicated that Olympiakos had considered offers in the range of 12 to 13 million euros over four years, while Dorsey had requested 14 million euros, or 3.5 million per year. Recently, on September 9, the Greek sports website Sportdog reported that Olympiakos was willing to increase its offer to 3 million euros per season. Other clubs have also shown interest in Dorsey. PAOK reportedly offered 3.5 million euros per year starting from the end of 2027, and on September 20, it mentioned an offer of 4 million euros per season. Panathinaikos is also monitoring the situation, though none of these figures have been officially confirmed by the clubs involved. Olympiakos has already experienced a costly departure this season with the transfer of Thomas Walkup to Dubrovnik, and the squad has been reshuffled with the arrivals of Jean Montero and Codi Miller-McIntyre. Dorsey was a key player in Olympiakos' recent success, helping the team win the Euroleague in Athens in May, ending a 13-year title drought for the club. Evan Fournier was named MVP of the Euroleague Final Four during that campaign. Dorsey has also made a significant impact in the Greek league, such as when he scored 41 points against Kolossos in December 2025. His Greek passport may also influence the negotiations, as local press has noted. According to Sportdog, the crucial period for reaching an agreement is between December and January. If no deal is reached by then, Dorsey could leave Piraeus without a contract at the end of 2027.
