Social action groups face challenges

Social action organizations in the Centre-Val de Loire region are warning about the difficulties they face in supporting over 120,000 vulnerable people with the help of 42,000 staff members. They argue that their current situation reflects a flawed economic model that is not sustainable for their long-term operations.

Growing demands and limited resources

These organizations, which include those working in child protection, disability support, integration, and solidarity, are pointing out the increasing pressure on their services and the lack of resources. They say their work is vital for maintaining social cohesion and helping those excluded due to disability or difficult life circumstances.

National campaign for support

The URIOPSS, a federation representing about 200 associations and 850 establishments in the region, is leading a national campaign from October 12 to 17. The campaign is aimed at public authorities and presidential candidates, urging them to commit to ensuring the continuity and quality of services for the most vulnerable people.

Call for recognition and awareness

The organizations are highlighting their role as essential actors in social support, not just as organizations seeking help. They are trying to raise awareness about the risks of a weakened network of associations, which could have serious consequences for the communities they serve.
