A new five-star hotel, Patina Osaka, has opened near Osaka Castle, offering guests panoramic views of the historic landmark and a unique blend of modern and traditional Japanese design. Located directly opposite Osaka Castle, which is surrounded by lush greenery and moats, the hotel is conveniently situated near the Osaka Museum of History and within an eight-minute walk of Tanimachi 4-chome Station. This provides easy access to the Chuo and Tanimachi metro lines. Nearby, the famous entertainment district of Dotonbori is less than half an hour away, and the hotel can be reached from the airport via public transport in about an hour and 10 minutes or by taxi in 45 minutes. Patina Osaka is described as a youthful and trendy luxury hotel that attracts a diverse mix of native and international guests, including many from Generation Z. Its afternoon tea service has been particularly popular, featuring pastel-colored cakes that are especially appealing for social media. The hotel's design merges contemporary elements with traditional Japanese aesthetics, such as a cobalt blue and white ombre spiral staircase in the tea room, a ceiling of dried flowers in the breakfast room, and a sculpture in the P72 restaurant that resembles a wooden snake. The hotel features 221 rooms, including 35 suites, each with modern amenities like large-scale white canvases made from Japanese washi paper, Italian Frette linen beds, Dyson hairdryers, and bathrooms with rainforest showers and granite tubs. Many rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows offering views of the city or Osaka Castle. Some suites include additional features like an en-suite sauna, meditation area, dining and living room, office space, kitchenette, turntable, and precision sound system. Patina Osaka offers five dining options, including a teppanyaki restaurant, a Basque cuisine restaurant, a bar and lounge serving pintxo-style bites, a tea salon, and a signature restaurant inspired by Japan's 72 "micro seasons." The hotel also includes a Listening Room by OJAS, an intimate listening bar with a curated vinyl collection and high-quality sound systems. The hotel can accommodate various dietary requirements, including vegan and vegetarian options. Facilities include a 24-hour gym, indoor pool, treatment rooms, and a spa offering massages, facials, and biohacking therapies. The hotel is accessible for guests with disabilities, with three wheelchair-accessible rooms, two accessible restrooms in public areas, and accessible lifts, restaurants, and exercise facilities. Wheelchairs and shower chairs are available upon request. Patina Osaka allows up to two dogs per room, with a maximum weight of 15kg per dog, for an extra charge. Pets must be transported in carriers in public areas and must have up to date vaccination certificates. Check-in is from 3pm, and check-out is before 12pm. Children aged 12 and under can stay for free when sharing existing bedding. Additional amenities for children are available, including complimentary in-room items and strollers on request.
