Hair renewal is a natural process

Hair naturally falls out and regrows as part of a renewal cycle, according to dermatologist Ramón Grimalt. This process ensures that all the hair a person has today will be completely replaced in about four years.

Hair loss is normal and expected

Grimalt explained that losing between 80 and 100 hairs per day is considered normal and not a cause for concern. This daily shedding is part of the body's natural renewal process, where each hair has a lifespan of two to six years before it falls out.

Visible hair loss may cause worry

People with long hair may be more concerned about seeing strands in the shower drain or on their brush, as each strand is more noticeable. However, this is simply a visible sign of the natural hair renewal process, not an indication of excessive loss.

Cutting hair does not strengthen it

Grimalt warned that cutting hair does not make it stronger. Instead, cutting shortens the hair, but it does not affect the health or strength of the hair itself. The appearance of hair loss is often more noticeable with longer styles.
