Transavia France, a French airline similar to its Dutch counterpart, is set to begin operating flights using the A321neo aircraft starting in the spring of 2027. This new single-aisle aircraft will allow the company to expand its network by offering 25% more seating capacity compared to the A320neo it currently uses. The first A321neo is expected to be delivered in March 2027, with five units ordered to be in service by the summer high season.
Currently, Transavia France operates a fleet of 98 aircraft, including 67 Boeing 737-800s that provide seating for 189 passengers. These are being gradually replaced by the A320neo, which has 186 seats. The new A321neo, however, can carry 232 passengers, making it a more efficient option for routes constrained by limited flight times or international traffic rights.
The A321neo is not only larger but also quieter and more fuel-efficient, which the company says will drive its growth and improve its economic competitiveness. Olivier Mazzuchelli, CEO of Transavia France, noted that the aircraft will be a key driver for the company’s future success.
Transavia, the Dutch sister company of Transavia France within the Air France-KLM group, has already been using the A321neo since 2024. As of February 2026, it had received 15 units of the aircraft, demonstrating the model's effectiveness and popularity within the group.
