New Naruto manga announced

During a panel dedicated to Naruto at the New York Comic Con festival on October 10, it was announced that Masashi Kishimoto will launch a new manga titled Naruto Shadow Rising. More details, including whether Kishimoto will be responsible for the artwork, will be revealed during the Jump Festa '27, which will take place on December 19 and 20. In the meantime, a trailer has been shared.

Crossover with Ninku revealed

A crossover with the ninja manga Ninku was also revealed in the follow-up. This animated project is titled NARUTOxNINKÛ. The production of the anime Ninku is also central to the production of Naruto, as it includes artists similar to those in key positions, starting with the chara-designer Tetsuya Nishio (and the studio Pierrot).

Legal availability of Ninku

The anime (unreleased in France) is legally available on the studio's YouTube channel. "Without Ninku, there would be no Naruto" can be read in the trailer.

Production delays and future plans

In 2023, new episodes were announced to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the anime, but a week before their release in September 2023, the project was put on hold for "to improve the quality of production." Since then, no news has been released. All of this contributes to the new plan by the rights holders aiming to establish many projects between 2027 and 2029.

New AnimeLand issue available

In the meantime, you can purchase the AnimeLand issue 255 dedicated to Naruto to learn more about the creation of the manga and the anime.
