The lineup for the WTA Finals 2026 is starting to take shape, with Elena Rybakina and Aryna Sabalenka officially securing their spots. Rybakina, who won both the US Open and Australian Open this season, leads the rankings with 7,492 points. Sabalenka is close behind with 6,485 points and has qualified for her sixth consecutive year-end Masters event. She reached the final in 2022 and 2025 but lost to Rybakina in the latter year. Three other players are in strong positions but have not yet officially confirmed their qualification: Jessica Pegula, Mirra Andreeva, and Coco Gauff. Pegula is currently in third place with 5,825 points, followed by Andreeva (5,722) and Gauff (5,654). Elina Svitolina is sixth with 4,809 points, while the two Czech players, Karolina Muchova and Linda Noskova, are in the two last positions that could still qualify, with 4,400 and 4,234 points respectively. Marta Kostyuk is just 324 points behind Noskova, while Iga Swiatek has a 650-point gap compared to the player in eighth place. The qualification process includes a specific rule: the top seven players in the rankings are automatically qualified, while the eighth spot is reserved for the best-ranked player between positions 8 and 20 who has won a Grand Slam this season. This rule currently benefits Linda Noskova, who won Wimbledon in July. She is exactly eighth in the rankings. Rybakina, who has already secured her place by winning two Grand Slams, and Andreeva, the French Open champion, are both in positions that ensure their qualification. As a result, Noskova is expected to be part of the WTA Finals. The final rankings could still change significantly due to the upcoming WTA 1000 tournaments in Beijing and Wuhan. These events, which carry high points and prize money, could shift the positions of several players and influence who joins Rybakina and Sabalenka at the year-end championship.
