Inde Navarrette, an actress best known for her role in the supernatural horror film Obsession, has found herself at the center of a controversy involving online harassment. Directed by Curry Barker, Obsession became a box office sensation, earning over 500 million dollars worldwide despite an initial budget of just 750,000 dollars. Now, Navarrette is facing unwanted attention on social media from Jeff Sneider, an independent entertainment journalist and occasional contributor to outlets like TheWrap and Deadline. On September 3, Sneider posted a threatening message on X (formerly Twitter) after Navarrette’s team did not respond to his inquiries. In the message, he claimed he could be "a useful ally for her team" or alternatively "share literally everything I hear about her." When confronted with criticism, he doubled down, insisting that his message was not a complaint but a "threat." He warned that if ignored, he would continue spreading "continuous rumors" and suggested that being ignored would allow him to "say whatever he wants." He also claimed that such tactics had already proven "very profitable" for him. The incident sparked backlash from internet users, with many calling Sneider’s behavior "freaking" and "unprofessional." As a result, he was banned from the Reddit community dedicated to Marvel Studios, which no longer trusts him as a reliable source. In response to the controversy, Sneider eventually deleted his posts and issued an apology, admitting that his "ego had taken over." However, Inde Navarrette has not publicly commented on the situation, choosing to remain silent amid the uproar. Despite the controversy, Navarrette’s career appears to be on an upward trajectory. She is set to portray Rogue in the upcoming Marvel X-Men film and will take on the lead role in the thriller The Waffle House Index, produced by Apple Original Films and Plan B Entertainment. Meanwhile, Sneider continues to face the consequences of his actions, as his credibility in the entertainment journalism space is now under scrutiny.
