Game release date set

Cupiclaw will be released for Nintendo Switch 2 on November 12, 2026, via the eShop. The game is developed and published by Typin, which announced it with Rainy Frog. A trailer was released for the occasion.

Gameplay style explained

It is a roguelike deckbuilder, meaning a game where players build and evolve a set of elements for each play session, inspired by arcade claw machines. It combines arcade gameplay with a lot of customization.

Story premise outlined

The story takes place in a colorful universe and is based on an absurd scenario centered on love and perseverance. Morris has lost his engagement ring and no longer has enough money to buy another. Fortunately, beautiful rings can be won on the highest floor of the arcade hall.

Game mechanics detailed

The goal is therefore to retrieve the ring, and thereby save Morris's relationship. The character's name is Maurice in the French version of the game. The player begins their adventure on the cheapest floor and climbs one floor at a time. Each floor brings new machines, new lots, and new challenges to overcome, up to the final floor, where the machine containing the ring is located.

Game progression and features

Along the way, the player can catch more than 70 different lots, while being careful of traps scattered throughout the journey. The rounds follow a fast-paced sequence, and the player must refine their skill to grab as many valuable items as possible while avoiding unwanted lots. At the end of each round, the player sells what they have caught and uses the earnings to prepare for the next one.

Additional gameplay elements

The game also focuses on combo building. The player personalizes their sessions by adding or removing lots to achieve powerful combinations. They can also improve the claw to increase their chances of success. The machines become increasingly chaotic and difficult. The player encounters colorful characters, and the plot includes twists, according to the description provided by the developer.
