Amex GBT and Delta expand travel partnership

Amex GBT and Delta Air Lines are enhancing their existing partnership with new features tailored for business travelers. These updates aim to streamline the booking process by integrating Delta’s loyalty programs directly into the reservation system, eliminating the need for travelers to switch platforms.

New features for Delta loyalty programs

Two features are currently being tested with participating companies. The first allows non-members of Delta SkyMiles® to register directly from the Egencia booking interface. This means travelers can begin earning miles from their first trip without leaving the booking platform.

Fast Track to Medallion Status integration

The second feature involves Delta’s Fast Track to Medallion® Status offer. Travelers can now register for this benefit through booking tools provided by Complete by SAP Concur and Amex GBT. This allows eligible travelers to reach Medallion® status faster, granting access to perks like complimentary upgrades and waived baggage fees.

Testing phases and future plans

The companies note that the features are at different stages of testing. They also plan to extend these integrations to other Amex GBT solutions in the future. Rajiv Ahluwalia, director of revenue at Amex GBT, explains that the pilot project focuses on where business travelers already make their bookings.

Leaders highlight partnership goals

Delta’s senior vice president of global sales, Bob Somers, emphasizes the goal of simplifying access to benefits for travelers. He states that the collaboration is exploring new ways to make it easier for travelers to enjoy the rewards they value.

Additional developments in travel and tech

Amex GBT is being acquired by Long Lake, a company specializing in artificial intelligence. Meanwhile, Delta Air Lines has launched a new route between Austin and Paris. SAP Concur and Amex GBT are also working to strengthen their unified travel and expense platform.
