Book explores child's search for truth
Nicolas Girard-Michelotti, a graduate of the École du Nord, has created Cosmonaute, a fable published by L'École des Loisirs, which tells the story of Arthur, a child waiting for the return of his father, who may be on the moon. The narrative explores themes of absence and the harshness of reality, as well as the child's perception of the world and its relationship to "magical thinking." Arthur's mother does not answer his questions about his father's identity or whereabouts, leading him to seek answers on his own after a mysterious ogre visits their home.Performance blends childlike vision with drama
The performance, directed by Girard-Michelotti, features a scenography that reflects a child's sensory experience of the world. Guided by Madame Lune, a fairy who appears from the night, Arthur ventures into the forest to find the answers he seeks. The production includes text and staging by Girard-Michelotti, dramaturgy by Jean Massé, and performances by Rosa-Victoire Boutterin, Karine Pédurand, and Arnaud Chéron.Design elements enhance the theatrical experience
Set design, costumes, and masks are by Marjolaine Mansot, with lighting and stage management by Mathis Berezoutzky-Brimeur, and sound design by Macha Menu. The production is by Compagnie Lichka, with co-productions from Le Grand Bleu – Scène conventionnée d’intérêt national « Art, enfance et jeunesse », Théâtre Nanterre-Amandiers – Centre Dramatique National de Nanterre, Théâtre du Nord – Centre Dramatique National, Théâtre du Chevalet – Scène conventionnée, and Espace Michel-Simon – Ville de Noisy-le-Grand.Show targets young audiences with limited runtime
