French egg prices remain stable

As of October 15, 2026, the Les Marchés newspaper detailed the current state of French egg prices, which are published weekly in its French Egg Quotation. This updated quotation includes two categories: packable and non-packable eggs, with Grade 2 eggs set to be included starting in November 2026.

Packable eggs show no price changes

For packable eggs, there has been no change in pricing compared to the previous week. Industry operators note that wholesalers are not buying French-origin eggs unless required by specifications, as they can find more competitive prices from the EU or other regions. Graders report difficulty in selling G and TG eggs and are offering price reductions, while M and P grade eggs are less available but hold their prices better.

All-grades packaging remains steady

In terms of all-grades heading towards packaging, there is also no change compared to last week. Sales are active, and the limited exchanges of grade 3 packable eggs are happening at firm price levels, indicating stability in this segment of the market.

Non-packable eggs face weak demand

For non-packable eggs, manufacturers are seeing weak demand for French grade 3 egg products, which is unusual for this time of year when end-of-year production typically begins. Factors include unsold stock from previous periods, an increase in imported egg products, and a shift in consumer demand toward grade 2 eggs over grade 3.

Grade 3 prices remain stable across Europe

Despite weak demand, the prices of grade 3 eggs remain stable in France. This trend is also observed in Europe, though French grade 2 eggs are still difficult to find on the spot market, indicating a supply shortage or limited availability.
