FFF launches fuel aid program

The French Football Federation (FFF) has introduced a financial aid program worth 2.2 million euros to assist amateur football clubs dealing with rising fuel costs. The initiative, announced on October 15, aims to provide targeted support based on the size of each club.

Aid amounts vary by club size

The assistance amounts differ depending on the number of members in each club. Smaller clubs with fewer than 100 members will receive 100 euros, while those with 101 to 249 members will get 200 euros. Clubs with 240 to 499 members are eligible for 300 euros, and those with more than 500 members will receive 500 euros.

Loire department receives 30,100 euros

In the Loire department, a total of 30,100 euros has been allocated to support approximately 165 clubs. Thierry Delolme, president of the Loire District of the FFF, explained that the Federation has been working on this initiative since April and views the aid as a positive step toward addressing the issue.

Critics question the adequacy of the support

Some club presidents have raised concerns about whether the assistance is sufficient to cover rising fuel costs. Jean Dainotto, president of AS Villars, pointed out that the aid would only allow a minibus with a 60 to 70-liter tank to be filled twice, calling the support "anecdotal."

FFF defends the gesture as meaningful

While acknowledging the limitations of the aid, Thierry Delolme defended the initiative as a meaningful effort to support amateur football clubs. Philippe Diallo, president of the FFF, emphasized the Federation's commitment to being close to its clubs and providing support whenever possible.
