Series premieres on Prime Video

The series Le Charles is now available on Prime Video, offering viewers a fictional portrayal of life aboard the French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle.

Co-production with M6

The show was co-produced with M6, a French television network, and was filmed almost entirely on the actual aircraft carrier, providing an authentic backdrop for the series.

No military involvement in the script

According to producer Henri Debeurme, the French Navy did not have any artistic control or involvement in the script, as the series was not commissioned by the military.

Military provided technical assistance

Debeurme mentioned that while the Navy did not request changes to the content, they provided technical and procedural advice, as well as help with script vocabulary during the production.

Navy viewed the series positively

The first two episodes were shown to the French Navy, who recognized themselves in the series but acknowledged that it remains a work of fiction.
