As the 2026-2027 school year has already begun, artisanal companies in the Gard department are still hiring, with 100 apprenticeship contracts currently available. To connect young people with employers, CMA Formation Nîmes is organizing a large "job dating" day on Wednesday, October 7, from 1:30 PM to 6:00 PM. Young people still searching for an orientation, a training program, or especially an apprenticeship supervisor will be able to meet directly with the teams of the Chamber of Crafts and Artisanry. The opportunities concern many sectors, including baking, pastry, hairdressing, jewelry, aesthetics, photography, dental prosthetics, or commerce. This day will also allow participants to discover the Nîmes training center, its technical platforms and accommodations, as well as to exchange with trainers and pedagogical teams. These teams can assist candidates in finding an apprenticeship supervisor and inform them about contracts, available aids, accommodation, transportation, or devices intended for people with disabilities. CMA Formation constitutes the training network of the Chamber of Crafts and Artisanry of Occitanie. More than 9,000 apprentices are welcomed there each year, and more than 170 alternating training programs are offered, from the CAP to the professional license. For young people, these training programs are free and paid within the framework of apprenticeship. "CMA Occitanie is a leader in apprenticeship in the crafts sector. Our ambition is clear: to train tomorrow's artisans and offer young people the opportunity to succeed in their professional lives, through apprenticeship training," states Joseph Calvi, president of CMA Occitanie. For those who have still not found their company a few weeks before the start of the school year, this event can be decisive. One hundred contracts are still waiting for their candidates in the Gard. Practical information: job dating on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, from 1:30 PM to 6:00 PM, at CMA Formation Nîmes, avenue Maréchal-Juin in Nîmes. Free and open to all.
