Episode 1180 of the anime One Piece aired this Sunday, concluding the first part of the Elbaf arc. This arc follows the adventures of the protagonist, Monkey D. Luffy, and his pirate crew as they explore the vast world of One Piece, a long-running manga series that has captivated audiences worldwide. Now, fans will have to wait until 2027 for the next installment of the story, as the anime production is going on hiatus for several months. This break comes after a major change in the broadcast schedule announced by Toei, the studio behind One Piece, at the end of 2025. Since 2026, the anime has followed a seasonal format, releasing only 26 episodes per year, split into two blocks of 13 episodes each. This change aimed to address challenges such as limited production time and the need to keep up with the original manga, which sometimes led to the inclusion of filler episodes—episodes that do not directly follow the manga's storyline. Episode 1181 is expected to air in spring 2027, although no exact date has been set. In the meantime, fans can look forward to a film based on the God Valley arc, scheduled for release next year. Additionally, The One Piece, a remake of the first arc by WIT Studios, is set to debut on Netflix starting in February 2027. This new adaptation will run alongside Toei's version and will offer a fresh take on the East Blue arc with a more dynamic pacing and visual style.
