Karl Sorin's injury sidelines him for months

Right wing Karl Sorin will miss up to four months due to a shoulder injury requiring surgery and will not be able to join the French team for the Nations Championship. Fabien Galthié, the French team coach, has decided to recall Thomas Laclayat to strengthen the squad.

Multiple absences challenge Galthié

Galthié is dealing with multiple absences as he compiles his list of 42 players for the second phase of the Nations Championship. Players such as Thomas Ramos, Emmanuel Meafou, Julien Marchand, and Lenni Nouchi are already out, and Sorin's injury adds to the challenges.

Sorin's injury confirmed by club

Stade Rochelais confirmed Sorin's injury after examinations revealed the need for surgery. The club expressed disappointment, noting Sorin had been performing well this season.

Injuries at right wing position

Sorin's absence comes after previous injuries to Dorian Aldegheri, Demba Bamba, and Régis Montagne. In response to the injuries at the right wing position, Galthié has called upon Thomas Laclayat.

Laclayat returns to the squad

Laclayat, who has played six times this season under Sébastien Piqueronies, including a start against Toulon, will rejoin the French team almost a year after his third selection, which was during the victory against Australia in the Autumn Nations Series. The French coaching staff hopes the injury list does not grow further before the matches against Fiji, South Africa, and Argentina.
