The planned strike by Easyjet France pilots, originally set for September 13 and 14, has been delayed until September 24 and 25, according to the pilots' union, SNPL. This change comes after the resumption of negotiations between the union and the airline’s management. The SNPL described the pilots' efforts as a "determined and united mobilization" that has encouraged a "more serious dialogue" with management. However, the union emphasized that no concrete agreements have yet been reached on the pilots' key concerns, especially around schedule stability and working conditions. The pilots have criticized the "chronic instability" of their work schedules, a problem they say is common. The SNPL has pointed out that it is not unusual for pilots to end the month with schedules that differ significantly from those planned at the beginning. This unpredictability has been a major point of contention in their negotiations with Easyjet. The union expressed disappointment that Easyjet has not extended to pilots the same conditions it previously agreed to with cabin crew. In August, cabin crew members staged a strike over similar issues, and that led to an agreement granting them five days per month with fixed schedules that could not be changed. If changes occurred beyond two hours, compensation was also provided. While the delay in the strike offers a temporary reprieve, the SNPL remains focused on securing similar protections for pilots. The union continues to push for stability and fair treatment, emphasizing that the unresolved issues remain a significant concern for the flying staff.
