Axa, a major global insurance company, is streamlining its work on agentive artificial intelligence (AI) by creating a centralized platform known as the "Global AI Hub." Developed in partnership with Publicis Sapient, a digital transformation agency, this hub is designed to manage AI development across Axa's various subsidiaries. The first version of the platform was launched in July and is already being used by five of Axa's key entities: Germany, France, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and AXA XL, which specializes in large-risk insurance. The Global AI Hub is described as a secure platform that supports the development, governance, and use of AI within the company. It is "agnostic," meaning it is not tied to any specific large language model (LLM) providers, allowing Axa to build AI agents from initial concepts to full deployment. The platform includes tools for monitoring governance, financial operations (FinOps), safety, security, compliance, and human oversight throughout the AI lifecycle. It also manages the allocation and coordination of AI capabilities and LLMs based on specific use cases. Axa believes that this centralized approach will help it manage its AI resources more strategically and efficiently. By outsourcing and centralizing AI development, the company aims to reduce both the time it takes to bring new AI solutions to market and the associated costs. This strategy allows Axa's subsidiaries to focus more on creating value for customers and less on managing the technical infrastructure. Publicis Sapient is responsible for building the common AI infrastructure, a model also being used by other major financial institutions such as Société Générale, Crédit Agricole, and BPCE. Publicis Sapient has confirmed its commitment to expanding its AI capabilities, with plans to invest 300 million euros over three years in artificial intelligence. The company aims to become the leading "Intelligent System" in its sector. Matthieu Caillat, Director of Technology & AI at Axa, emphasized that Publicis Sapient brings together specialized AI knowledge, enterprise solutions, and international experience. These elements are expected to help Axa implement a unified and regulated AI strategy across its global operations.
