Logitech unveils special edition mouse design

Roland Quandt, a journalist for the German website WinFuture, published on Tuesday, October 13, official marketing visuals of an as-yet-unannounced mouse, the Logitech MX Master 4 Special Edition.

Design changes only

The images show that Logitech is only changing the appearance of the mouse, with graphics covering the entire top surface and a colored button in red-orange. The classic MX Master 4 was launched on September 30, 2025, at 129.99 euros.

Popular among users

It is undoubtedly the most popular mouse from Logitech at the moment, adopted by many people who work all day on computers. The visuals show graphical patterns covering the entire upper shell, with the most visible difference being above the main buttons, where a button turns red-orange.

No changes to size or weight

WinFuture indicates that the weight and dimensions remain unchanged. The classic MX Master 4 weighs 150 grams according to Logitech's technical sheet. That is 9 grams more than the MX Master 3S, which preceded it.

Internal components unchanged

Inside, nothing changes either, according to WinFuture. The sensor still has 8,000 DPI, or points per inch, the unit that measures the sensitivity of a mouse (the higher the number, the less you have to move your hand to move across the screen).

Suitable for light gaming

According to the site, it is also sufficient for occasional gaming (for more serious gaming, gaming mice exist for less than 50 euros). It even works on a glass surface, so no need for a mouse pad.

Advanced scroll wheel retained

The MagSpeed scroll wheel is also retained. It uses an electromagnetic system to switch from a stepped scrolling, line by line, to free rotation that scrolls up to 1,000 lines per second. It is practical for scrolling up a long spreadsheet with a single finger.

Haptic feedback remains

Logitech also retains the haptic feedback, the major new feature of the MX Master 4 last year. A small motor placed in the thumb rest vibrates to confirm an action.

No release date or price

No price or date yet. Ob does not know the release date or price of this Special Edition, and Logitech has not announced anything. For a reference point, Logitech sells the classic MX Master 4 for about 130 euros.

Battery regulation update

Nothing also indicates that the battery is easier to replace on this version. On the classic model, Logitech's specifications describe its 650 mAh battery as "non-replaceable." However, the European battery regulation will require from February 18, 2027, that portable devices sold in the European Union have a battery that the user can remove and replace themselves.

Classic model available now

If the graphics do not appeal to you, the classic MX Master 4 offers the same technology, and it is already on sale.
