Ivory Coast's 2027 budget draft unveiled

The Ivorian government has released a draft state budget for 2027, amounting to 18,466.1 billion CFA francs (31.56 billion USD), marking a 6.4% increase from the 2026 budget of 17,350.2 billion CFA francs. This budget aims to strengthen public finances while supporting the country’s development goals.

Economic growth forecast included

The draft Finance Law is based on an economic growth forecast of 6.6% for 2027, slightly higher than the 6.2% projected for 2026. This growth is expected to support the budget's expansion and the government’s development priorities.

Sovereign fund allocation announced

A portion of the 2027 budget includes 100 billion CFA francs designated for the launch of the Côte d'Ivoire Sovereign Fund, a key reform initiative. However, the government has not yet specified the fund’s priority investment sectors, sources of financing, or governance structure.

Funding for national development plan

An additional 70 billion CFA francs is allocated for studies and preparations needed to mobilize financing and implement projects under the 2026-2030 National Development Plan. This underscores the government’s focus on long-term infrastructure and development goals.

Public deficit reduction target

The budget increase comes as the government aims to reduce the public deficit from 3.8% to 3.5% of GDP in 2027. This reduction must align with the financial demands of infrastructure and other priorities outlined in the National Development Plan.
