Film highlights regional ties
The film Le Corset, directed by Louis Clichy, is experiencing good success in theaters and has strong connections to the Centre-Val de Loire region. Clichy, who was born in Chartres and lived in Orléans, drew inspiration from his history and his village in the Beauce region. The film pays tribute to the organ of the cathedral, and the music featured in it reflects Clichy's roots.Choir features local talent
The choir featured at the beginning of the film was recorded by the ensemble Le Palais royal, directed by Jean-Philippe Sarcos. Julie Fontenas, an Orléans-based musician who is part of the singing class at the Orléans Conservatory, joined the choir for the recording. Clichy himself previously participated in the Palais royal academy, which brings together professionals and students aged 18 to 30.Upcoming performances planned
Le Palais royal will perform on November 8 at the Gaveau hall in a Beethoven program and at the Cirque d'Hiver on March 13, 2027, with a Mozart program. These performances highlight the ensemble's continued engagement with classical music and its presence in major venues across France.Requiem to be performed locally
The Requiem by Fauré, featured in Le Corset in a version by Laurence Equilbey, was recently performed in Orléans by the orchestra and symphonic choir. It will be performed in a version with choir, orchestra, and dance by the ensemble Composite under the direction of Serge Ceccaldi at the Saint-Donatien church in Orléans on November 13 and 15, 2026. This performance adds a new dimension to the work's presentation.
