Charly Gambini gains attention from elite rugby clubs

At 23 years old, Charly Gambini, a third-line player for Aixois, has become a key figure in the Provence Rugby team and is now drawing interest from the Top 14, the top-tier rugby league in France. The club, which currently competes in ProD2, is provisionally leading the league and has seen growing interest from elite clubs in its young talent. According to the Midi Olympique, Stade Français Paris has shown interest in Gambini.

Gambini's physical and technical abilities

Gambini, who stands over 1.95 meters tall and weighs nearly 110 kg, combines mobility with good ball-handling skills. His profile has made him particularly attractive to elite clubs. Last season, his performances earned him more responsibilities and a firm place in the Provence Rugby rotation. His ability to influence games and his strong defensive play make him a valuable asset.

Gambini's standout performance

His performance against Colomiers in the Pro D2 semifinal left a lasting impression. Gambini scored two tries and played a major role in Aixois' historic 36-28 victory, securing their first final appearance in the competition. A French U20 international, Gambini still has room to grow, but his versatility, aerial play effectiveness, and technical skills are assets that could attract Stade Français.

Provence Rugby's stance and Gambini's future

Provence Rugby wants to retain Gambini, who is under contract until 2027, and has the financial means to do so. It remains to be seen whether Gambini will choose to continue developing at home in Provence or pursue the opportunity to join a major Top 14 club as early as next summer.
