Two tobacco shops robbed in Lyon and Givors

Two tobacco shops were robbed on Saturday, October 17, in the cities of Lyon and Givors, France. The incidents occurred several hours apart and involved multiple suspects in both cases.

Suspects wore hoods and used force

In Lyon, five individuals wearing hoods and gloves entered a shop on the Cours du Docteur-Long in the 3rd arrondissement around 2 p.m. They attacked the manager before stealing cash and cartons of cigarettes, fleeing on scooters.

Second robbery involved a hammer and gun

Later that evening, around 7:30 p.m., two individuals robbed a tobacco shop on the Rue Édouard-Idoux in Givors. They used a hammer and a handgun to force the manager to open her safe before taking the money and fleeing on foot.

Authorities launched separate investigations

Local police have opened two separate investigations into the robberies. As of now, no connection has been found between the two incidents that occurred on the same day in different cities.

No suspects identified yet

Authorities have not yet identified any suspects in either case, and the motive for the robberies remains unclear. The shops were targeted for their cash and inventory, which are common targets for such crimes.
