Pogacar returns to racing in 2025

Tadej Pogacar, the five-time Tour de France champion, will return to competition before the end of 2026. He will participate in the BeKing charity criterium in Monaco on November 29, marking his first race since a serious injury in August.

Serious injury ends Pogacar's 2024 season

On August 29, Pogacar abandoned the Vuelta a España after a fall during the eighth stage, which he was leading in the general classification. The Slovenian cyclist had already won three stages of the race and had an outstanding season, including his fifth Tour de France victory and wins at Milan-San Remo, the Tour of Flanders, and Liège-Bastogne-Liège.

Pogacar's recovery and limited racing plans

Pogacar suffered a clavicle fracture, a stable cervical fracture, and a concussion, requiring surgery. His recovery forced him to withdraw from the World Championships, the European Championships, and the Tour of Lombardy. He resumed outdoor cycling on September 26, but his team had previously stated he would not compete in any event before the end of the year.

BeKing criterium returns with Pogacar

Pogacar will compete in the BeKing criterium, an event he has previously won. In 2024, he triumphed ahead of Mads Pedersen and Michael Matthews. This year, he will be joined by his partner, professional cyclist Urska Zigart, who confirmed their participation in a video posted on the event's social media.

Event includes youth engagement and free access

Beyond the racing, Pogacar and Zigart have introduced a new program for young supporters, allowing them to ride alongside professionals. The event will feature both men's and women's races at Port Hercule, with free access for attendees. The women's race is scheduled for 11:15 and the men's for 14:00 local time.
